Bedwetting

Does your child still wet the bed at night?
Nocturnal enuresis, or bedwetting is a fairly common occurrence and it tends to run in families.
So, if you were a bedwetter, your child is more likely to be one. Between 2 and 4 per cent of children aged 5 to 7 have problems with daytime wetting or urinary incontinence; by age 12 only 3%, and by age 16 .5%. This site has a nice description of possible reasons for bedwetting and ways for parents and kids to deal with it.

Social problems can arise when the child (or parent) is embarrassed about bedwetting. This site has some useful downloadable leaflets and a forum for parents.
